Dr. Faris’s success speaks for itself. He graduated from Cairo University in 1975, obtained the Membership of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine in 1985, Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, UK, (MRCOG) in 1992, Fellowship of the RCOG in 2004, Membership of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology in 2002, and Membership of the American Association of Laparoscopic Gynecologists in 2010.
Dr. Faris has trained numerous colleagues in endoscopy and ultrasonography, as well as in gynecologic endocrinology. Some of his students are now senior consultants in the UK and many all over Egypt. He was deeply interested in teaching endoscopic surgeries and traveled all over Egypt and other Arab countries to impart his knowledge and more than 40 years of experience on rising generations. He conducted a multitude of hands-on training courses in ultrasonography, operative laparoscopy, and operative hysteroscopy.
He was the first in Egypt to perform the removal of an ectopic pregnancy through laparoscopy in 1985, and the first to perform a laparoscopic hysterectomy in 1993. He is also one of the few who perfected the methods for transhymenal hysteroscopy and the discovery and removal of ectopic pregnancies in cesarean scars.
